This course provides a systematic introduction to the foundational principles of the Special Theory of Relativity. It is intended for students with a strong background in mathematics and physics, with particular proficiency in analysis, differential geometry, classical mechanics, and electrodynamics.
Classes will take place in Classroom 202 on Tuesdays from 16:50 to 18:30, and in Classroom 306 from 18:50 to 20:20.
Specifically, we will cover the following topics: Pre-relativistic space and time. The postulates of the Special Theory of Relativity. Relativistic cinematics. Relativistic dynamics. Relativity and Electrodynamics.
